Mariela Rivera

Mariela Rivera, COTA– Clinic Supervisor & Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/L). Mariela is a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and the proud Clinic Supervisor of the Winter Garden Kidz Therapy Zone office. With a deep commitment to excellence and a heart for helping others, she brings not only clinical expertise but also warmth, empathy, and a genuine love for the children and families she serves.
Mariela has extensive knowledge in child development and sensory integration, which forms the foundation of her individualized, compassionate approach to care. She is deeply passionate about supporting each child’s unique journey and believes in meeting every child where they are—with patience, understanding, and respect for their strengths.
She has completed ongoing continuing education in the DIR Floortime® model and actively integrates this play-based, relationship-centered approach into her sessions. Mariela also serves as a mentor to fellow therapists, coaching them on best practices for utilizing play-based interventions that foster connection and progress.
As Clinic Supervisor, Mariela takes great pride in leading with heart and purpose. She is dedicated to fostering a supportive, collaborative environment where both children and therapists can thrive. Her leadership reflects the very values at the core of Kidz Therapy Zone: connection, compassion, and child-centered care.
Outside the clinic, Mariela enjoys spending time with her family, exploring nature, and finding joy in life’s little moments.
